The Home Affairs Department of the States of Jersey is seeking to appoint an independent Lay Member to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board.
The Independent Lay Member will work together with the legally qualified members of the Board to consider written claims. Candidates must have the ability to assimilate relevant information and engage in a discussion to assess the validity of the claim, whether compensation should be awarded and agree a monetary award. The work requires total confidentiality.
