An opportunity has arisen for a part time post (18.5hrs per week) as an Arrest Referral Worker within the Alcohol and Drug Service. The post holder will have a qualification in health, social care or nursing (or equivalent related at diploma/degree level), together with knowledge of issues relating to drugs, HIV, Hepatitis B and C with an understanding of harm minimisation and risk reduction strategies. The Arrest Referral Worker engages with people at the point of arrest whose offending is linked to drug or alcohol misuse. By seeing the offender as soon as they are arrested they can offer them a pathway into harm reduction, treatment and rehabilitation services.
