The post holder is required to undertake the most complex technical work on a daily basis, using all the legislative powers and tools available to prevent or recover losses from this sector of the tax base in order to ensure that the correct taxes are assessed through the use of efficient, customer focused processes. In addition provide specialist tax technical input using research and analysis skills, insight and benchmarking tools, appraising and advising on tax policy initiatives. Some SSOs are involved in international work, managing Jersey’s complicated framework on international tax agreements.
Applicants should be educated to degree level (or equivalent in a relevant discipline) and will hold relevant professional qualifications such as ATT.
