We are filling a post that is to be vacated by a retiring employee later this year. The Incumbent engineer has over 30 years experience and will be a big loss to the department. We are hoping to be able to recruit in time for a suitable length of handover between the incoming and outgoing post holders, given the difficulty we have had previously trying to recruit to this role due to
skill shortages on island we are advertising as early as possible to reduce the time we may be short staffed. Being short staffed brings both budgetary and welfare pressures on the rest of the team as they will be required to work additional hours to cover the shortfall.
