In July 2014, the States of Jersey took the unprecedented decision to approve the primary legislation required to establish and deliver a Jersey Aircraft Registry (JAR). Due to be launched in early 2015, the JAR will both enhance and complement the current suite of offerings for the Island that includes the Shipping Registry, Company Registry and more recently the online Security Interest Registry. The role of the Registrar is of paramount importance in the establishment and successful delivery of the JAR in both fulfilling the functions and responsibilities, as detailed in the Aircraft Registration (Jersey) Law 2014 as well as working with Jersey Service Providers to help them develop new business opportunities.
