Senior Podiatrist at States of Jersey
This is an opportunity to join the ‘Podiatry Bank’ on a zero hours contract. There can be times when the department is trying to cover staffing in times of difficulty, for example due to staff sickness. There can be other opportunities where extra cover is needed if there is some short term funding for increased staffing. The type of work and rate of pay will depend on experience, and the zero hours contract staff will often work in a relatively supported area, to backfill a more senior member of staff to cover more specialised work. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Grade doctor to join a surgical team consisting of three Consultants, two Associate Specialists, 2 Staff Grades (including this post) and four Junior Doctors (3 FY2s and 1 FY2). Duties will include General Surgical 1:4 on-call, operating lists, outpatient clinics and day-to-day care of in-patients. While most of the work is general surgery you will have the opportunity to take part in minimally invasive colorectal surgery with state of the art systems lead by an EBSQ qualified consultant, reconstructive breast surgery, and advanced vascular surgery caring for a population of just over 100,00.
